Can I have my party at Moorhayes?

We are pleased to offer the Community centre for all types of celebration, except 18th Birthday parties.

How much does it cost? Less than you may think !

For example:

a party costs just £15 a hour (daytime) or £20 a hour (evenings)
*note that all 21-40 birthday parties utilising the bar must employ registered door supervisors.

The Moorhayes Community Centre is fully licenced to sell alcohol for consumption on the premises only. The Centre now has it’s own fully stocked bar complete with chilled cabinets, draught beers and lagers, a wide variety of spirits on optics, soft drinks and specialist beers and lagers.’

The bar is available for hirers of the main hall for parties, celebrations and dances (please note we do not permit the hire of the hall for 18th birthday parties at any time).

All birthday parties for the age group 16 to 40 are required to provide registered door supervisors in the police recommended ratio of 50 guests per 1 door supervisor – other age groups may be required to provide door supervisors at the Associations’ discretion.

Can I sell my own alcohol in the Centre ? No

Moorhayes Community Association only can sell their own alcohol. There is a fee of £25 in addition to the hire charge for the hall bar staff, payable in advance.

Can I bring my own alcohol to the Centre? No

No organisers may permit their guests to bring their own alcohol for their own consumption.

 

Moorhayes Community Association supports the Citizencard proof of age pass. It is always an offence to sell alcohol to anyone under the age of 18. Those aged 16 and 17 years may drink beer, wine or cider (not spirits) when having a table meal and the drink is bought for them by someone aged 18 or over.

Use of the Community Centre kitchen is £10.00 per Hour to hirers of the meeting room or hall if they need it.

The Community Association also has a range of cookware, tableware and glassware available for hire, including dinner place settings including cutlery (serves 150) beer and wine glasses (over 100) saucepans and serving dishes tea and coffee pots cups and saucers griddle

Charges are per place setting – just enter your requirements on the Table & Glassware Hire agreement. Please note a separate deposit is required.

Organisations and individuals wishing to hire the facilities at the Community Centre are required to complete the Hiring Agreement

The revised Agreement sets out the dates, times, intended purpose and other details of the hire (e.g. whether the use of kitchen facilities is required) and can be used for single or repeating bookings. Please note that until the Hiring Agreement is received by the Association along with the appropriate deposit, your booking is regarded as provisional only.

Provisional bookings will be cancelled if not confirmed within a maximum of 28 days, or less if the booking is within that time period.

Licenced bar – hirers wishing to use the licenced bar must pay an additional deposit, as noted on the Schedule of charges 2014
